Your photo is then displayed side-by-side with the corrected version – as you start to make adjustments, the right-hand photo automatically updates. The beauty is, the original is always left unaffected: the changes are performed on a separate layer, which also means you can not only mix and match different changes, but also make adjustments without having to undo other actions first. The heart of the program is its colour-correction tools. From here, select a simple template – including options for correcting over- and under-exposed images – and you’ll instantly see an improvement. You can fine-tune this further using the sliders or start from scratch with your own. Other options include tools for blurring or sharpening images, removing noise and fixing red-eye problems, while the suite is rounded off with three further buttons for resizing, rotating and cropping the image.
